Daniel McCullough, MD
Dr. Daniel McCullough, MPhil, FAAFP, FASAM, is a family physician at Lahey Health Primary Care in Beverly who is board certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He is also a Clinical Instructor of Family Medicine at Boston University.
Dr. McCullough previously served as the Department Chair for Family Medicine at Beverly Hospital for six years and as Vice President of Medical Staff for an additional four years. Dr. McCullough was on the Medical Staff of Lahey Behavioral Health for fourteen years and was the Medical Director of the Inpatient Detoxification Unit for seven of those years. He also served on the National Medical Specialty Action Group for the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) which helped to bring the specialty of Addiction Medicine to ABME Board Certification as the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He served as a National Membership Co-Chair for ASAM for six years.
Dr. McCullough is the Chair of Lahey Health’s Physician Leadership Council and has been since the formation of Lahey Health. He is also the Medical Director for Northeast Medical Practice (NMP), Beverly Hospital's employed physician practice; a member of Lahey Health System’s Patient Experience Committee; and the physician champion for the Patient Experience Transparency Pilot. Embracing innovation and transformative primary care seen through the lens of the patient experience, Dr. McCullough and NMP have successfully worked with alternative payment models to improve patient care and reimbursement with NMP being among the first practices in the Commonwealth to adopt the initial Alternative Quality Contract. He previously served as a trustee for the Lahey Health System.
Dr. McCullough received his undergraduate degree from Providence College, his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and his MPhil from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. He completed an internship with Mercy Hospital and his residency with Maine Medical Center.
