Philip Cormier

President, Beverly, Addison Gilbert and BayRidge Hospitals

As President of Beverly, Addison Gilbert and BayRidge Hospitals, Philip Cormier is the leader of the 364-bed hospitals: Beverly Hospital, a 223-bed medical center and acute care facility; Addison Gilbert Hospital, a 79-bed acute care facility; and BayRidge Hospital, a 62-bed psychiatric hospital offering psychiatric and chemical dependency services on an inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient basis. He reports to Richard Nesto, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Beth Israel Lahey Health, until an Executive Vice President of Hospital and Ambulatory Services is hired.

Phil has been Chief Executive Officer of Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals since 2015. Under his leadership, the organization was named a “Top 100 Hospital” by Truven Health Analytics (now IBM Watson Health), grew services lines such as maternity and orthopedics, as well as addiction services, and earned consistent “A” ratings for quality and safety from the Leapfrog Group. Previously, Phil was Chief Operating Officer for two years. Prior to his most recent roles at Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals, Phil was Chief Operating Officer of St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and Chief Executive Officer of Kindred Hospital North Shore. He had previously served in a variety of leadership roles at Beverly Hospital, and began his health care career at Union Hospital in Lynn.

Phil earned a business degree from Salem State College.

He resides with his wife in North Reading.
